Inside Out: Solo Exhibition by Aaron Treher

Aaron Treher, Co - Founder of The Thought Lot Contemporary Arts Center, will be featured as The Thought Lot’s March - April’s exhibitor. The opening reception will take place on, First Friday, March 1, 2013 beginning at 6 PM. There will be sculpture, installation, prints, and drawings on display. All of the artwork featured at the event will be original artwork by Aaron. All works will be for sale during the 2 month exhibition. Sculpture and installation art is the focus of the exhibition. Aaron graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and magna cum laude honors in 2009. Over the five years in his studies Aaron received three art scholarships, three juried art competition awards, and participated in a student exchange in Croatia. His work has been exhibited in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Lancaster, Zagreb; Croatia, and Shippensburg. One sculpture of Aaron’s is currently a part of a public sculpture garden in Bjelovar, Croatia. Recently Aaron has spent the last three years focusing on development and implementation of The Thought Lot. Aaron considers The Thought Lot a community arts project, aimed at the benefit of the community and the arts.
Alongside the exhibition, Aaron will be instructing a mold-making and casting workshop in coordination with The Wonder Collective at The Thought Lot. The workshop will take place Saturday, March 30, 2013. The workshop is open to all ages at different times through the day (Kids 9AM - 11AM, Teens 1PM - 3PM, and Adults 4PM to 6PM). Much of Aaron’s work relies on mold making to create plaster, concrete, bronze and non traditional materials. Participants will learn how to make basic molds, food safe silicone molds, and how to cast objects in a variety of materials. Email Aaron at aadtreher@gmail.com with questions about the workshop.
